Richard Bruton Reveals Contempt People’s Right to Decide

During the Fiscal Compact Referendum Debate:

Government Minister Richard Bruton revealed the truth in an interview by Matt Cooper on Today FM (17/5/2012).  When discussing the possibility that the people might vote against the Treaty being adopted he stated:

“I suppose I will have to say that we will need access to this fund and Ireland will be looking to say can we vote again, because we will need access to this fund. We will have a crisis on our hands.”

Of course there were many strong denials and retractions following this deviation from the standard script, but in this momentary lapse the true thinking is revealed – such comment does not come from nowhere.

It is no longer unusual that a referendum might be put a second time … so that the Government can get the right result!  Remember Nice and Lisbon!
